Closing SpeechEnglish | Español | Português | Русский | 中文 Dear Colleagues: I am pleased to report that the International Society for Holter and Noninvasive Electrocardiology (ISHNE) has had another outstanding success with its 2nd Heart Failure World-wide Internet Symposium that was conducted during the month of April 2008. We have had more than 17,000 registrants/participants sign on to the Symposium from over 93 countries, with the Symposium translated from English into Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese. The PowerPoint lectures were a high point with the top lecture downloaded over 9700 times. The case discussions brought out a interchange of useful ideas related to the diagnosis and management of patients with challenging cardiac problems. This international exchange about heart failure has reached around the globe and involved many physicians who have been unable to attend traditional international cardiology meetings due to distance and cost. Our emphasis has been on optimizing patient care, and we do this by sharing the best and latest scientific information known about heart failure. Our outstanding, world-renown faculty were major contributors to the success of this Symposium, and in behalf of the organizers and participants in the Symposium I express our deep gratitude to this very special faculty. This 2nd Virtual Heart Failure Symposium would not have been possible without Dr. Sergio Dubner, President of the ISHNE Scientific Committee, and Dr. Edgardo Schapachnik, President of ISHNE Steering Committee, and their support group in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A special thanks goes to Dr. Li Zhang from Salt Lake City, Utah, USA who helped arrange for the involvement of our faculty from China and arranged and coordinated the translations of the Symposium and the e-mail correspondence into Chinese. The ISHNE Society is pleased to bring these educational programs to you, our physician/cardiology colleagues throughout the world. The next ISHNE-conducted internet Symposium will be on Sudden Cardiac Death in October/2008 and we look forward to your involvement and participation.
